Products and Services

Optimum Energy’s reliable, Ultra High Performance HVAC optimization software applications are guaranteed to reduce energy consumption and operating costs with no impact on occupant comfort. Optimum Energy’s solutions are installed in commercial high-rise office towers, schools and universities, federal and state government facilities, data centers, labs, medical facilities, airports, hotels, casinos and shopping centers across the U.S, as well as district cooling plants.

OptimumHVAC™ is a patented software system that permanently reduces the amount of energy used to heat and cool large commercial buildings by 30-60%. OptimumHVAC saves energy by automatically determining the most efficient sequencing of HVAC system equipment to meet real-time building load cooling needs. OptimumHVAC also enables persistent savings by continuously measuring and verifying plant performance via a Web-based service.

The OptimumHVAC solution consists of OptimumLOOP, software that maximizes the energy performance of chilled water plants, and OptimumTRAV, software that controls the air side for more efficient delivery of heating and cooling. Also integral to OptimumHVAC is OptimumMVM, a Web-based measurement, verification and management service that helps prevent system performance degradation, guaranteeing long-term savings.

OptimumLOOP

OptimumLOOP software reduces energy use of centrifugal chiller HVAC systems and/or district cooling stations. OptimumLOOP’s efficiency algorithms operate the entire chiller plant (including chillers, pumps and tower fans) on a variable speed basis, automatically adjusting for the dynamic load of the building every 30 seconds.

  • Targeted at buildings over 100,000 sq. ft. with centrifugal chiller plants 400 tons or greater.
  • Requires variable frequency drives (VFDs) and a building automation system (BAS).
  • Reduces HVAC system energy use by 30-60%, with wire-to-water chiller plant operation often at 0.5 kW/ton or less.

OptimumTRAV

OptimumTRAV (Terminal Regulated Air Volume) software reduces energy use of air handling systems by exploiting the capabilities of direct digital controls (DDCs) to modulate air flow for more precise and efficient air temperature management.

  • Designed for buildings with variable air volume (VAV)
    air handling units.
  • Requires VFDs on air handlers and DDCs on all VAV units.
  • Reduces energy use for heating and cooling, resulting in
    savings of 30-60%.
  • Creates a more comfortable environment for building occupants.

OptimumMVM

OptimumMVM is a secure, online measurement, verification and management service that guarantees persistent energy reduction in commercial HVAC systems optimized with OptimumLOOP or OptimumTRAV. Detailed real-time and historical performance data provides operators with the feedback needed to quickly detect, diagnose and resolve system faults and prevent performance degradation, ensuring ongoing HVAC system energy efficiency.

Optimum Energy Engineering Services

Optimum Energy’s Engineering Services specialize in engineering HVAC systems to maximize energy efficiency performance. Engineering Services can be provided at any stage during a facility’s lifecycle, and include detailed energy analysis or simulation, review and consulting services for plant design and control, and utility rebate or incentive program documentation for both new construction and retrofits.

Optimum Energy’s Engineering Services also conducts site assessments to determine plant readiness and prepare a detailed return on investment (ROI) analysis on OptimumHVAC projects. Site assessments include:

  • Site survey to assess improvements needed to maximize
    optimization potential.
  • An upgraded design recommendation with a detailed scope of work.
  • Detailed instructions for the integration of OptimumHVAC™ software and the control contractor’s scope of work.
